Tottenham Hotspur are ramping up efforts to bring in new players before Monday’s deadline and now hope they can convince Aston Villa to do business on midfielder, Douglas Luiz.
Spurs have so far suffered huge frustration in their attempts to bring new faces in. A handful of big name players, such as Dusan Vlahovic, Adama Traore, and Luis Diaz, have all slipped the net at different periods. However, Fabio Paratici is not giving up hope and is now aiming to land Luiz from Villa.
That’s according to yesterday’s Daily Mail anyway. Their report claims that Tottenham will look to bid around £32m for the Brazilian star, who has been outstanding for Villa this term. The Mail says Spurs are preparing a whopping bid for Luiz, who is into the final 18 months of his contract.
Villa , thought, want to keep their man. However, there is also a willingness to do business if the price is right and Luiz shows little to no intention of penning fresh terms. The former Manchester City man has been a regular fixture, and Villa would need a replacement in should they allow a move.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are also said to be nearing a double deal for Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.
TBR’s View: Luiz To Tottenham Is Smart But More Needed
Sure, Spurs need some help in midfield. And Douglas Luiz would be a big help in the engine room for Antonio Conte. Deemed ‘unbelievable’ by former Villa boss Dean Smith, the ex-City ace is a big talent.
However, Tottenham need more than just sitting midfielders. Spurs fans were hoping for some more exciting signings to really give Conte the edge in the race for the top four. Wide players were needed, while a back up for Harry Kane wouldn’t have gone amiss either.
Luiz would be a good, if not expensive, capture for Tottenham. But Paratici needs to do more, and he’s running out of time.
