Tottenham got themselves into the hat for the next round of the FA Cup this weekend but the work doesn’t stop for Fabio Paratici and his transfer team, despite January coming to an end.
All eyes are on the summer now for Spurs and Paratici. And it seems the Italian is already working hard on identifying and sorting players out for his budget in the next 6-8 months, according to Football.London journalist, Alasdair Gold.
Gold, speaking on his YouTube channel earlier today, has claimed that Tottenham were planning on sending Paratici himself to watch Nottingham Forest star, Djed Spence, this afternoon. Of course, as we know, Spence played a pivotal role in helping Forest hammer Leicester. And if Paratici was in attendance, he’ll have been hugely impressed.
Paratici may have also had his eye on Brennan Johnson, who once again stole the show for Steve Cooper’s side.
However, Spence could be the man they look to this summer. Emerson Royal has struggled in the main, despite an improved performance this weekend, and Spence could take his place. Indeed, reports on deadline day suggested Spurs actually bid £12m for him, but fell £3m short of Boro’s valuation
.TBR’s View: Spence Perfect For Tottenham
Talk about making an impact during a loan spell. Djed Spence has been nothing short of superb since he moved to Nottingham Forest on loan. Indeed, it begs the question as to just how good Middlesbrough’s right-back must be.
Spence would be brilliant at Tottenham. He has everything for the wing-back role. Quick, powerful, positionally sound, and with the right composure to impact the final third. He is simply outstanding when he plays like he did today.
Worryingly for Spurs, that £15m asking price might have just shot up. However, even if it has, Spence very much looks like being a worthwhile addition for Paratici.
