According to Alfredo Pedulla, Tottenham Hotspur offered Giovani Lo Celso as a part of a swap deal to sign Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina.

Antonio Conte’s men are yet to make a signing in this month’s transfer window and Spurs fans are getting frustrated. There are just four days left now and after the Adama Traore deal collapsed, Amrabat looks the likeliest player to move to North London.

The Moroccan, who is currently away on international duty at AFCON, is reportedly Conte’s number one midfield target at the moment. Negotiations have been ongoing for a while now, and Tottenham have tried different ways to get this deal done.

Sending Lo Celso the other way was one tactic, but it hasn’t worked.

Lo Celso is surplus to requirement at Tottenham at the moment.

The Argentine, labelled ‘fantastic‘ by Harry Winks, was recently dropped from the Spurs squad. Just when people thought he had picked up an injury, he took to Instagram to tell the world that he was completely fit.

It is clear as day that Tottenham want Lo Celso gone in this window, but the report claims he won’t be going to Fiorentina, at least not in this window.

La Viola reportedly considered Spurs’ offer, but they decided against it and declined. Lo Celso will now have to find a new home elsewhere, but it won’t be easy considering that the window shuts in just three days time.

TBR View:

It really is a shame that things haven’t worked out for Lo Celso at Tottenham. The Argentine, who earns £70,000-a-week at the moment, has struggled with injuries, and although there have been a few good performances when he’s fit, he just hasn’t found the required consistency.

To make things worse for him, his profile as a player doesn’t really suit Conte’s system. That is probably why he’s being forced out of the club, which is not ideal for him at all.

It will be interesting to see where Lo Celso will end up if he does leave by Monday. A few Spanish clubs are reportedly very keen on his services, and it won’t be a surprise at all to see him return to La Liga in the coming days.
