According to French outlet But Football Club, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Saint-Etienne goalkeeper Etienne Green in the summer.
Spurs recently tied Hugo Lloris down to a new contract and the French World Cup winner will remain the club’s number one goalkeeper for another two years at the very least.
The problem Spurs will soon face is that Lloris will not have a deputy. The Pierluigi Gollini experiment just hasn’t worked and it is looking more and more likely that he will be sent back to Atalanta at the end of the season.
That leaves Spurs will just Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman, who don’t have the experience at the top level just yet. As a result, Tottenham will most likely sign a new goalkeeper and Green could be the one.

Tottenham eye Etienne Green but he wants to join West Ham
The report claims that Tottenham have been watching Green for a long time and they are set to make their move in the summer transfer window.
The likes of Southampton and Crystal Palace are also said to be keen, but Spurs should be able to beat the two teams for his signature before the start of next season.
However, the one issue Spurs may face is that Green dreams of a move to West Ham. The report claims that his uncle is a massive Hammers fan, which has made the youngster want to play for the club at some point in the future.
TBR View:
Green started this season as the number one for Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1. Even though his side have had a woeful campaign, he managed to catch the eye, but an injury cost him his spot.
The 21-year-old, labelled as ‘perfect‘ by ex-PSG goalkeeper Mickaël Landreau, missed a couple of games due to an elbow injury. That opened the door for Paul Bernardoni to come in and take his spot. The 24-year-old even kept a clean sheet in the last game, which makes it likely he’ll continue in goal at Green’s expense.
That could open the door for Tottenham to make a move for him in the summer and it won’t be a surprise if they manage to get him to be Lloris’ eventual successor.
