Newcastle United are closer to landing striker Hugo Ekitike before the deadline passes this evening, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that the striker is set to fly to England shortly.
The Mags have tracked Ekitike all winter and now finally appear to be a position to announce his signing. The young striker is one of the hottest properties in Europe, and will give Eddie Howe and Newcastle an immediate boost to their starting XI.
Newcastle have enjoyed a good window overall that is set to end on a high as well. The signings of Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier were all smart moves. And now with Ekitike and more set to arrive today, Eddie Howe will have full confidence in his team avoiding relegation.
