Eddie Nketiah is thought to be keen on the idea of leaving Arsenal for Newcastle United on the final day of the January transfer window, according to a report from The Times.
The Magpies are continuing to try and get names through the door as the deadline looms. The Times notes that Dan Burn is closing in on his switch. Meanwhile, reports on Sunday suggested that they are close to agreeing a loan deal for Matt Targett.
But Newcastle may not stop there. The Times reports that Eddie Howe’s side stepped up their pursuit of Nketiah on Sunday as they look to land another striker.
And interestingly, it is suggested that the 22-year-old is thought to be keen on leaving the Gunners for St James’ Park.

Newcastle may struggle to land Nketiah should Arsenal offload Aubameyang
Worryingly for Arsenal, the striker links involving the Gunners heading into deadline day largely centre around players who could leave. Like Nketiah, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is possibly on the move.
Barcelona want the former Arsenal captain. And if he leaves, Nketiah will be one of only two remaining strikers available to Mikel Arteta. The Arsenal boss has previously lauded the youngster for his ‘incredible‘ attitude.
Of course, much could change if a new goalscorer comes in at the Emirates. But surely, there is absolutely no chance that Arsenal will allow both Aubameyang and Nketiah to leave without a late deal of their own.
