Manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst has today confirmed Rangers may still be active in the transfer window.

The manager was speaking to press ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Ross County.

On the transfer window, he said “It is the last days. We can still do some business. I don’t know.

“I don’t know who is going. Anything can happen, especially in the last days of the transfer window.

“Sometimes it gets a little bit crazy, but I hope for us in this window it stays a little bit calm.

Why The 2021 African Cup of Nations Is So Controversial

Rangers have already recruited James Sands from NYCFC earlier in the window, the NYCFC young player of the year arrived at Ibrox in an 18-month.

Yesterday, Rangers added highly regarded Manchester United teenager Amad Diallo to their ranks.

The player has signed on loan for the remainder of the season with no buy option included in the deal.

The Ivorian comes with huge expectations due to the £37m fee Man Utd spent to secure his services.

Fans will be hoping he can cement his place on the right side of the attack, a position which fans feel have been neglected in recent transfer windows.

Rangers defence needs addressing

Rangers need a defender.

Leon Balogun is out of contract at the end of the season, as is Connor Goldson.

Filip Helander is persistently injured, and Jack Simpson has been deemed surplus to requirements.

John Souttar has already penned a pre-contract to join Rangers in the summer.

It looked likely he would make the move before the window closed, with Hearts reported looking for a fee this month.

Hearts fans had also not taken lightly to the player leaving and he was met with a hostile reception from them in his last game.

However, Hearts defenders Craig Halkett and Michael Smith both went off injured against Celtic.

Consequently, it now appears Hearts will look to keep Souttar for the remainder of the season.

With the possibility of Souttar having to stay, Rangers may turn their attention to Vitesse Captain Danilho Doekhi.

The player has been linked for several windows now and is a free agent in the summer.

The Daily Record reports that Danilho Doekhi will make a decision on his destination in the coming days.

Rangers and Dinamo Zagreb are the mentioned front-runners.

Vitesse have reportedly want a £2m fee to command the early signing of the player.

Rangers will be hoping with days left of the window that Vitesse may lower their demands.

Doekhi came through the youth ranks at Ajax.

Rangers assistant manager Dave Vos was involved in the Ajax youth academy for over a decade, so hopefully this may help sway Danilho towards Ibrox.

Elsewhere, reports claim that Rangers are in talks with Crystal Palace teen Dan Quick.

However, it is unclear if this would be a signing for the first team or the development squad.

Rangers would also face competition from some top clubs such as Borussia Dortmund.

Man City youth player linked

Fresh from raiding Man Utd’s youth team, Rangers have been linked with Man City youth James Mcatee.

The youngster is clearly considered highly by Man City, making their Premier League squad on several occasions.

McAtee, has 14 goals in 15 games in the Premier League 2, also registering four assists.

McAtee also has four goals in three games in the UEFA Youth League.

Nonetheless, he has 18 months remaining on his deal and a loan could be seen as a good option for his development.

Rangers would likely face competition for his signature, with Brighton having previously had an £8m bid rejected.

Man City star Joao Cancelo labelled the teenager a ‘great player’, adding to the excitement for Rangers fans.

When asked about McAtee potentially signing, GVB refused to confirm or deny.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s strong relationship with Pep Guardiola could help Rangers’ case for James McAtee, but Swansea and Girona are another two clubs who #ManCity may be open to as he would be learning within an attacking brand of football.

Rangers fans will be hoping Giovanni Van Bronckhorst can use his Manchester City links to get the deal done and further boost Rangers attack for the title run-in.
