Ogun imposes 95,000 disinfection fee on private organizations, issues 7-days deadline

In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in Ogun state, Governor Dapo Abiodun, through the Ministry of Environment has mandated all owners of private properties and organizations within the state to pay up the sum of 95,000 each for the disinfection/disinfestation exercise.

In a document made available to Ogunreporters, says the move is in tandem with the plan of Ogun state government to achieve a well sanitized environment for healthy living. The Ministry added that the disinfection exercise would be carried out throughout the state.

“While the state government has carried out the disinfection exercise in most public places, owners of private properties and organizations have been directed to likewise do the same for their properties, particularly for properties been used for commercial or industrial purposes where members of the public patronize”


The Ministry further clarified that in order to ensure uniformity, the Ministry has deployed accredited fumigators to affected properties throughout the state.


Quoting from the available document issued by the Ministry, the cost implication for each facility include, Service charge – 80,000; and Certification fee – 15,000.


However, according to the letter, facilities and organizations who are ready to comply have been directed to pay the fee into an account named Sekbol & Sons Nig. Enterprises with Gateway Mortgage Bank.
