Daniel Levy was not too dismayed to miss out on bringing Adama Traore to Tottenham Hotspur during the January transfer window, with The Athletic reporting that he had doubts about a move for the Spaniard.
Adama looked set to make the move to Antonio Conte’s side during the window. It was suggested at one stage that no player was more likely to end up signing for Spurs in the month.
The Athletic reports that there was still a belief at the beginning of last week that the Wolves winger would eventually agree a move to North London.
However, Adama would end up joining Barcelona. As noted by BBC Sport, he has joined the club on loan. The Catalan giants have an option to make the move permanent in the summer.

The 26-year-old has been a divisive character throughout his time in the Premier League. He has been described as an ‘incredible‘ player by Pep Guardiola in the past.
However, his numbers have been awful considering his ability. So it would be little surprise if plenty of Tottenham fans were not too disappointed about losing out.
Interestingly, it would appear that those sentiments were shared by Levy. The Athletic reports that the Tottenham chairman was not convinced about Adama. And he was not too annoyed about missing out.

You can empathise with Levy. Adama has not been prolific in the Premier League. And it appeared to be a gamble for Tottenham to make a move.
Having said that, he is a player Conte seemingly wanted. And with that, there was plenty of intrigue.
Conte has performed miracles with some players in the past. So it was hugely exciting to imagine what he could do with Adama if he had joined Tottenham.
The winger has so much potential. And Conte looked to have a real chance of unlocking that.
