Kane lauds impact ‘brilliant’ Conte has had since joining Tottenham

Harry Kane has told ITV (broadcast on 6/2; 21:59) that he cannot speak highly enough of Antonio Conte when asked about the impact the Italian has had since coming to Tottenham Hotspur.

There is absolutely no question that Conte is making a difference in North London. He has now won 10 of his first 17 games in charge.

It was never going to be a quick fix for Conte. He arrived when Tottenham were really struggling under Nuno Espírito Santo. Nuno had also overseen an incredibly busy summer window, which probably did not do Conte many favours when January arrived.

But Tottenham look to be in pole position for fourth spot in the Premier League right now. And they have now booked their spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup after beating Brighton on Saturday.

There is definitely a feeling that Tottenham are moving in the right direction under Conte. And they will continue to do so should he receive the club’s backing when needed.

Certainly, Kane appeared to be delighted with Tottenham appointing Conte. The striker scored twice against the Seagulls. And following the game, he was asked about what the new boss has done since his arrival.

“He’s been brilliant. I can’t speak highly enough of him as a coach, as a person,” he told ITV. “He’s really changed the mindset of a lot of players in the team.

“We’re working really hard on the training pitch and we’re seeing the results out there on match day. That’s all the players can ask for.”

Tottenham have had some amazing managers in recent years. Mauricio Pochettino, of course, took the club to a Champions League final. Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has won almost everything in the game.

However, there is an argument that Conte is the first superstar Tottenham have appointed in a long time. Pochettino’s stock rose to that level in the years after he took the job. Mourinho, on the other hand, had not been the Special One for some time.

Tottenham have an amazing opportunity with Conte at the helm. He is already getting the club on the right track, and winning over their best players.

It is exciting to see where Tottenham could end up while Conte is at the club.
