It’s safe to say that when most questions get asked about who might be the best at something at Liverpool, Mo Salah is a name that’s not normally far off the list. But on this occasion, the Egyptian star doesn’t get a look in.
Salah is currently away in the AFCON and is preparing to face off with teammate Sadio Mane in the final. It’s set up to be a great showpiece, and is a fitting end to the tournament for the two best players in the entire competition.
However, according to Liverpool star Diogo Jota, neither Salah or Mane are on his list when it comes to being the most skilful players in the Liverpool squad. Instead, Jota has said that there are three at the top who sit above the AFCON superstars.
Certainly, Firmino isn’t too much of a surprising shout. However, the fact both Keita and Thiago are mentioned is interesting from Jota. Let’s see what Salah and Mane have to say about that – if we can – when they return to Anfield.
TBR’s View: Firmino Always Underrated At Liverpool
What a player the Brazilian has been for Liverpool. Often overlooked as Salah and Mane take the headlines, Bobby Firmino has been outstanding in recent years.
Even now, with Jota taking his place more often than not, the Samba star remains a key figure. Firmino is obviously a well-liked player in the Reds squad, too. And this is a nice nod from Jota to a player we all know has exceptional quality.
