It’s been a few hours in the making but it looks like Everton have indeed secured a deal to bring Dele Alli to the club from Tottenham Hotspur.
Reports this afternoon emerged to suggest Alli was a target for new Everton boss Frank Lampard. And while a late bid from Newcastle threatened to undo things, Everton have won the race and completed a deal.
Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to confirm the news this evening, stating that an official announcement is now due from Everton with regards to Dele.

Alli’s move from Spurs brings the curtain down on a largely successful spell for the former MK Dons midfielder in North London. Recent times have seen his fall away from the form he showed initially. However, at just 25, there is ample time for him to rebuild his career.
He leaves Spurs having scored more than 50 goals and helping the club to the Champions League final a few seasons back.
