Conor Gallagher says reported Arsenal target Tariq Lamptey is the quickest player he’s played with and against.
The Sun reported in late December that the Gunners had once again set their sights on the Brighton ace.
Likewise, Duncan Castles claimed in January that Arsenal were indeed keen on the 21-year-old right-back.
Speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast, he said: “Arsenal… had an interest in Lamptey when he burst onto the scene before that difficult injury.

“They are looking again to sign him and exploring the parameters of the deal. I think Lamptey is an exceptionally attacking full-back.
“Brighton will be happy to have discussions as long as their price tag for the player is achieved in the ultimate transaction.”
As well as Arsenal, the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United were reportedly eyeing the £50million-rated ace.
But in the end, Lamptey stayed put at Brighton.
However, with Arsenal reportedly looking to bring in competition for Takehiro Tomiyasu in summer, they could well retain their interest.
Gallagher, speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, said Lamptey really is incredibly rapid.
“Definitely him”
The Chelsea loanee was tasked with creating the ultimate teammate based on players’ attributes.
And when it came to pace, he opted for the former Blues man right away.
“Tariq Lamptey, I’ve said this loads of times,” said the Crystal Palace on-loan star.
“I grew up with him at Chelsea and he was always the quickest player I’ve played with or played against and the stats show it as well now, so definitely him.”
Lamptey has impressed for Brighton since joining from Chelsea in the winter transfer window in 2020.
He has played 35 times for the Seagulls, registering one goal and five assists.
This season, Lamptey has made 16 appearances since returning from injury, having spent more than ten months on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
