Tottenham Hotspur could be set for more transfer misery in the coming days as Brentford look to usurp them in the race to sign impressive Hull City youngster, Keane Lewis-Potter.

Reports this week had suggested Spurs were looking into signing Lewis-Potter and had sent scouts to watch the youngster in the Championship. The 20-year-old has been in fine form this term, scoring five and assisting another four to show his quality for Hull.

But despite Spurs registering an interest, the Daily Mail have now claimed that Brenford have come forward with a £12 bid for Lewis-Potter. It comes in the wake of the Bees failing in their pursuit of Nottingham Forest forward, Brennan Johnson. A £20m bid was lodged for the Reds ace, but Forest have stuck to their guns and refused to sell.

Tottenham are enduring a frustrating time in the market this month. Adama Traore had looked like signing all month but is on his way to Barcelona. Meanwhile, a late raid for Luis Diaz seems to have pushed Liverpool to make their move for the Porto star ahead of Spurs.

7 Greatest Premier League Right-Backs of All Time

Should Brentford then pip them to Lewis-Potter, Tottenham fans will be asking serious questions of the strategy in the market this month.

TBR’s View: Tottenham Are Royally Messing This Window Up

Spurs fans must be scratching their heads at what is going down at the club. Daniel Levy brought Fabio Paratici in to get deals over the line and they’ve done nothing this month.

There seems to have been an element of dithering here. Tottenham should have had the Traore deal wrapped up and for then Diaz to now be on his way to Liverpool seems madness.

If Lewis-Potter goes to Brentford, then it will be another failure. This is a deal they should be able to get done, and in the grand scheme of things, is pocket change. Labelled a ‘special talent’ by Grant McCann, this seems like Spurs are missing an open goal.
