Arsenal appear to have missed out on yet another transfer target, with The Telegraph reporting that Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak has now flown back to Spain after a trip to London this weekend.
Per the Telegraph’s live transfer blog (10:45, 31/01/21), it’s reported that Isak has now gone back to Spain with no bid on the table as yet from Arsenal. It’s suggested that Isak is now expecting Sociedad to resist all offers for his services, with the Spanish side holding out for the £75m release-clause in his contract.
Reports this morning had suggested that Arsenal were considering whether to make a last-ditch attempt to land Isak this month. Interest from AC Milan had apparently tempted the Gunners into thinking about parting ways with that £75m right now.
However, it appears more unlikely than ever that Isak will move to the club. Arsenal, then, will be once again left to rue another missed chance in the market this month.

TBR’s View: £75m Too Much For Isak
If Arsenal were spending £75m on a striker this month then it had to be Vlahovic. Anyone else would be a second option and hard to justify.
So, while Isak might be a good player in his own right, he’s not quite worth that price just yet.
