Arsenal are continuing to look for a new striker before Monday’s deadline passes and the latest name to be get a mention is Sassuolo forward, Gianluca Scamacca.
The Gunners have been left frustrated in their attempts to bring in a new striker this month. Dusan Vlahovic has signed for Juventus, while Tottenham look set to beat Arsenal to the capture of Dejan Kulusevski as well. Beyond that, a host of other names have been mentioned when it comes to the Gunners’ search for a new forward.
And according to FC Inter News, that search has led them to ask the question about Italian striker and current Sassuolo player, Scamacca. The 23-year-old has been in fine form this season, hitting nine in 23. He’s already been capped by Italy too, and is thought to be one of the countries top attacking prospects.
However, while Arsenal might have asked the question, FC Inter News also claim that Scamacca won’t be making the move to England thanks to interest from Inter Milan. It’s suggested that the Serie A giants have already prepared a contract for Scamacca, who is more than open to the switch to Milan.
Arsenal, then, will need to ramp up their efforts further to land that elusive forward. Scamacca, labelled ‘excellent’ by his former manager, wouldn’t have been the worse option in fairness to Edu.
TBR’s View: Scamacca A Last Ditch Attempt By Arsenal
Oh dear. Another one bites the dust for Arsenal here. A tentative enquiry for Scamacca met with the same answer the Gunners seem to be getting from all over the shop.
This is a worrying time now for the Gunners. Edu needs to step things up but with that, he also runs the risk of bringing in a player who might be third or fourth on the club’s list. Obviously, that is not the ideal situation.
However, there is still time. A few days is more than enough during a window and Arsenal fans will still hold out hope of a big name arriving before Monday night.
